Welcome to summer! Whether you threw the books aside for the next few months or are still plugging away faithfully, I hope you will be outside enjoying the beauty around us! Here's some for you to consider as you transition into this season.
Homeschool Community Swap
Monday, June 3, 4-7pm
-AND-
Monday, August 26, 4-7pm
McDermott Farm (Abundant Acres)
20940 Dutch Hall Road, Bennington
Mark the dates! A Homeschool Community Swap coming up in two weeks, Monday June 3, and then at the end of the summer, Monday, August 26. This will be at Felicia’s house, where we will be hosting Abundant Acres Farmer’s Market in the same timeframe. You can bring whatever you would like- books, clothes, toys, and you can trade/sell/give away your things. If you are selling, clearly label your items. Bring sheets, blankets or tables to set things out. The plan is to have this outside, but if it is raining, we will move indoors. If you wish, bring a supper to have or share around 6:00. We’ll have the grill and kitchen open and enjoy the evening together. If you want to come for only a part of this time, you may. However, you may only leave things if they have good containers or boxes so they can be loaded onto a trailer and given to Open Door Mission the following day. Feel free to invite friends- they don’t need to homeschool to come, there should be an abundance of excellent school related items to peruse through but will be plenty of other items, as well. You are welcome to check out the farmer’s market as well, and to have a table if you or your children have things they wish to sell at the market. For more info about that, visit www.ourabundantacres.weebly.com for details and to sign up. We like to encourage enterprising families and children. The farmer’s market will be operating throughout the summer on Mondays, 4-7, and will have garden produce and plants, farm fresh eggs, crafts and even classes.
